I think the way the application process for DLA is ran is a total shambles.  When is the government going to realise it needs a revamp and it badly needs it now!  The majority of people on DLA and those applying for it do deserve it, I have got it since 1995 and I would be totally lost without my car.  I would love to get back to work, be able to walk everywhere and not be in and out of hospital at least 5 or 6 times every year but unfortunately that's never going to happen.  Maybe those that make up the rules and the process for these benefits would like to live my life for a few weeks and endure breathlessness, sleepless nights and palpitations.  Maybe they would like to have to rely on their spouse to do the housework, ironing and washing!  Much as my hubby doesnt mind he does have to hold down a full time job and it makes me feel totally inadequate that I am unable to do so many things that I used to be able to do before my diagnosis.

Sorry for the rant but it makes my blood boil when people are treated so badly by the system...

Hi all,
Been reading all your posts regarding DLA,just started getting DLA ive had HCM all my life but things have turned for the worse this past year .My dealings with the DLA have been ok so far .
I did keep on chasing them after 4weeks and after 6 weeks got the result of higher rate for mobility for 2 years but no care Sad
I do need help with alot of daily things and reley on my wife to do them for me i did phone them to appeal the guy said you have been given the higher rate of mobility if we look at the claim again you could lose this and get nothing so i guess he was fobbing me off .
Not sure what i should do im very happy with the higher rate of mobility as i have just ordered a new car for the family but i have no help with care so my poor wife has to help me and it puts alot of stress on us as a family and a couple ,as we also have 2 small children...
so im unsure what to do at this point.
